[KB-018] My RGB LED Sign stopped working after initial use. What should I check?

Answer: All LED lights on the Arcade2TV-XR are powered specifically by the USB-C wall connection; they will not turn on if the unit is only powered through the USB-B data cable plugged into a PC. To prevent physical damage to the hardware ports, all USB-C cable connections to the Arcade2TV-XR and its accessories must be inserted straight and not at an angle. A beep indicates that a command was received; it does not prove the marquee strip, harness or whole motherboard healthy. Upgrading the controller firmware is a recommended troubleshooting step to resolve issues with non-responsive or malfunctioning pedestal lights. Performing a factory reset through the Arcade2TV software after a firmware upgrade can resolve issues where the touch panel or pedestal LED lights fail to illuminate. Xgaming does not provide separate RGB configuration files for the Arcade2TV-XR, as default lighting profiles are automatically restored by performing a firmware update or a software reset. Disconnect power and external cables before support-directed connector inspection. Report any previously observed flicker; do not deliberately wiggle a live internal connector.

Replacing the original XR marquee LED strip

For the original Arcade2TV-XR marquee assembly reviewed by support, a replacement strip lit before installation and the customer then confirmed that installation restored the sign. This is separate from the joystick and haptics results in the same case.

  1. Confirm the exact marquee assembly and replacement strip with support. Disconnect wall power and all external cables before opening or reconnecting it.
  2. On the matching assembly, remove the four long screws at the ends to release the lighting panel. Support described this four-screw access, which the customer found and used successfully.
  3. Support the panel without bending the acrylic. Remove the LED strip's retaining screws and carefully disconnect its connector; preserve the original connector orientation and cable routing.
  4. Fit the approved replacement, reconnect without force, secure the retaining screws and reassemble the panel. Do not force a different revision to match these instructions; send a photo to support if the fasteners or connector differ.
  5. Reconnect normal power and check that the marquee lights. Report any remaining joystick, button or haptics issue separately.

A working button light or beep does not prove the marquee strip or harness is good. Do not repeat the same completed reset/firmware checks indefinitely after a known-good replacement strip has isolated this light failure. Never wiggle internal connectors while energized.

Original XR LEDs and detection recovered after controller-PCB replacement

This is a distinct successful board-replacement branch, not proof that every dim marquee needs a PCB or that a beep proves the light bar is healthy.

If firmware/recovery and cable checks already failed, provide support those results and exact board/connector photos before repeating them or buying parts. A preflashed replacement must match the identified model/revision. Unplug power and external cables for internal work; do not pull wires out of adhesive or apply unspecified glue. Ask support if a connector cannot be safely released. Test lighting, PC input and wireless operation separately after the approved replacement. The factory connector adhesive was not required for normal operation in this case.

LEDs flash at startup, then go dark while controls still work

Scope: original Arcade2TV-XR. In a reviewed post-update case without a Haptics Kit installed, the controller and marquee lights flashed red at startup then stayed dark while other functions worked. Support first mentioned a reset, then supplied the lighting shortcut: press X-Logo + P1 Turbo together. The customer explicitly reported that pressing those two buttons fixed the lights. The result supports the shortcut, not a claim that Factory Reset was the successful step.

Use the original XR's labeled lighting controls with its USB-C wall-power connection; do not assume this shortcut applies to another model. Check the lights after the shortcut before repeating firmware recovery or replacing an LED board.
