After the customer had matched the documented DIP settings and software configuration and had compared the spinner in the same game against a known-good cousin's unit, the automation kept asking for more side-by-side photos, video, and software checks. That prolonged an already-isolated hardware branch.

Manual Reply Improvement

Matt moved the case to a replacement kit and gave a staged swap order: replace the PCB first, then the disk/sensor parts if needed. The customer later confirmed the kit fixed the slower and stuttering behavior completely.

New Drafting Rule

When the correct guide, DIP settings, and software settings are already confirmed and a controlled same-game comparison still shows slower or stuttering motion versus a known-good unit, stop repeating mapping checks. Move to replacement review or a staged hardware swap, starting with the PCB before the sensor/disk when that service path is available.
