Quest Keyboard and Mouse Input Confirms Gen 2 Dongle Path
A public support reply clarified a useful diagnostic split for Arcade2TV-XR / Pinball FX VR on Meta Quest.
If the Meta Quest headset successfully receives keyboard and mouse input through the Gen 2 dongle, the controller and dongle communication path is working. In that state, Pinball FX VR should also be able to receive input from the controller, so the next review should focus on the game mode, setup sequence, and power path rather than immediately treating the dongle as failed hardware.
Reusable guidance:
- Confirm the Gen 2 dongle is in blinking red mode for Pinball FX VR.
- For wireless Quest play, power the controller through USB-C only. Do not connect the rear USB-B data cable during the wireless session.
- If the X-Force Haptics Kit is installed, the haptics PCB can be powered separately with the 24V adapter while the controller remains powered through USB-C.
- If Quest menu/search receives trackball or keyboard input while the dongle is blinking red, do not frame the issue as a confirmed dongle failure. Ask for the Pinball FX VR mode/setup details, photos, or a video, and continue investigating game configuration or runtime behavior.
