Gen 2 Dongle Mode Is Independent From Controller Wired Mode

A public support reply clarified that Gen 2 wireless dongle mode and Arcade2TV-XR controller wired mode are separate mode paths.

When the customer is playing wirelessly with the Gen 2 dongle, the controller's wired mode is not the important setting. The customer can change the dongle's mode by pressing the dongle button while the dongle is connected to the target device, such as a Quest headset or Steam Deck.

Use this to avoid over-applying the USB-B / P1 Mode guidance:

• For wired controller mode changes, connect the controller over USB-B and hold P1 Mode.
• For wireless Gen 2 dongle mode changes, use the dongle button on the dongle itself.
• Do not tell a wireless customer that the controller must be put into a specific wired mode before the Gen 2 dongle can change modes.
