Arcade2TV-XR mode LED and Steam Deck controller-order guidance
When an Arcade2TV-XR customer is unsure which mode the controller is in, or says Player 1 controls are working on the Player 2 side on Steam Deck/emulator setups, start by identifying the current mode and the software controller order before assuming hardware failure.
Reusable guidance from public support reply 12383802273 on ticket 31004:
- At startup, the controller's mode indicator light blinks three times to show the active mode.
- Red means Keyboard Mode.
- Blue means D-Input Mode.
- Green means X-Input Mode.
- Purple means Pinball Mode. This is also X-Input, but with a different button mapping.
- For Steam Deck/emulator troubleshooting, ask which frontend, emulator, and specific game the customer is using before giving detailed setup instructions.
- If Player 1 controls are working on the Player 2 side, the software may have assigned the Player 2 controller as Player 1. Have the customer check controller order or controller assignment inside the game, emulator, or Steam Deck settings.
Suggested Draft Shape
Ask for:
- the startup blink color;
- the frontend, emulator, and game;
- a screenshot or short video of the Steam Deck/controller-order screen if Player 1 and Player 2 appear swapped.
Then guide the customer based on the active mode and software controller assignment.
Confidence Boundary
This is a human public support answer and is corroborated by older mode guidance, but the ticket outcome is not confirmed yet. Use it as safe diagnostic/setup guidance, not as proof that controller-order assignment was the final cause in ticket 31004.
