We provide this so you can download/store locally and build your own from scratch back to factory ship condition Here are instructions for creating an X-Arcade PC from scratch. These are the detailed steps we followed when building your machine. Please download/save, you can use as your backup/archive, any issues, just follow and start over Pre-steps: http://www.xgameroom.com/support/MaximusSetup.zip. (6GB) · You will want to put the contents of the .zip (or folder contents) from ftp onto an external HDD or thumb drive. Make sure it is a PC-formatted drive, not Mac and only use a PC to copy the files. You may want to do several so you can set up more than one PC at a time. · Do not connect the PC to the internet during the setup process, this will only slow you down. · User Name must be "X-Arcade" (without the quotes, so batch files work). · Just choose "Use express settings" and Local Account when prompted. (this got much easier and faster in Win10) · You no longer need to disable stickykeys or video hotkeys. In general just don’t do any steps you did before that aren’t listed here. Steps: "1-Copy" folder: After you get into Windows, open the ‘1-Copy’ folder and run the ‘!copier.bat’. That copies everything. You know it was successful when the icons appear on the desktop (which is why it is the last thing copied). If anything goes wrong during the copy process you will not see the icons on the desktop and will need to run it again choosing overwrite All. "2-Install" folder: As soon as 2 starts, go to the folder ‘2-Install’ and run ‘! Installer.bat’. This will first uninstall a couple of things, then start the install of everything else. Just keep hitting yes/next/uninstall/install/Restart Later/etc, during this process. Change the desktop background image: This is now done in the registry, but sometimes doesn’t show up after reboot. So all you have to do is (after Step 2 is complete, or specifically after the part where the registry file is run in step 2), right-click on the desktop and choose ‘Personalize’, then under ‘Choose your picture’ click on the only X-Arcade image below-leftmost. You will see the background change, then you can just close this window. "3-Finalize" folder: Wait for all of the files to completely finish copying from step 1 before doing this (icons on desktop). Go the appropriate Finalize sub-folder and run the file "! File copier.bat. When complete it will open notepad with the Maximus registration code needed for the last step. You can also change a Machine to an A2TV or vice-versa just by running the batch file again from the corresponding folder. You only CANNOT change a Cocktail to a different type (you can, but it requires manual steps, so don’t bother). A2TV ONLY: Once you do the Finalize for it, it will automatically change the resolution to 720p. Once it does this hit Ctrl+Alt+F11 which will open a menu, choose ‘Maintain Display Scaling’. (Alternatively you can right-click on the desktop and go to Graphics Options>Panel Fit>Maintain Display Scaling.) Final Step: Once everything is copied and installed, click on the "Maximus X-Arcade" on the desktop to launch the program, and enter the registration code. At this point the PC will scan the ROMs, so you will have a black screen for a minute or so. You can shut down during the scan if you are certain you did all the steps correctly. If SNK games are requested, just run the !SNK in the SNK Folder before doing step 5. Testing: Pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and then signing out an and back in again (or rebooting the PC) should take you straight into the list of emulators in Maximus Arcade (after first ROM scan). Any major issue would be found if it did not, or otherwise an error message would pop up. Testing a Machine PC on an actual arcade monitor might be recommended to make sure that the resolution is working correctly (and because a couple of PCs have been found not to work on the arcade monitors at all for some strange reason). You can Exit Maximus while in any menu (outside of a game) by hitting RCtrl+Q (right-control+Q). More general usage info here: http://machine.xgaming.com Maximus Arcade Code: Your cabinet comes with the Maximus Arcade frontend software pre-registered, but Windows Updates can erase it from the registry, so please keep this copy should that happen. There's no harm in updating Windows, but we recommend only connecting to the internet when you are using the internet, otherwise leave it disconnected when you are just playing it. Certain keys will not work while the X-Hotkeys program is running (E.g. 2 key and Numpad keys). Press the ~ key to disable it while you are using the keyboard, or alternatively right-click on the X-Hotkeys icon found in the system tray near the clock (bottom-right, X icon) to disable it. Please tap the F12 key as soon as you boot the PC and a menu will come up giving you the option to do a hardware diagnostic, please run that and let me know if any hardware fails. If it doesn't then please click the arrow on the bottom-right of the screen (you may have to hit Esc if it's already running) and then right-click on the Hard Drive icon and put a check for long test (if it isn't checked already), then close that window and left-click on the Hard Drive icon to run the long test.

- You will need to create a single user on the PC named "X-Arcade" without the quotes. You cannot change a current user to that username either as the user folder has to be named correctly. Then download this file: http://xgameroom.com/service/ServiceFiles/Cab-files/MAX2.10.zip
- Unzip it to the C: drive so that you now have a c:\Max 2.10\ folder. 3. Inside c:\MAX2.10\! Restore Default Prefs\ folder run the 'Registry_Shell' file and then run the '! Restore.bat] or '! Restore-Biz.bat' depending on if this is for a business or residential.
- Register it: Windows Updates can erase the registration from the Windows registry. There's no harm in updating Windows, but we recommend only connecting to the internet when you are using the internet, but to leave it disconnected when you are just playing it.

No Sound

The sound adjustment control can be found in the back-left of the keyboard/mouse drawer in the Machine, or inside the coin door on all other cabinets. It is the primary way to adjust the sound. The power on/off switch for it is located on the front of it near the headphone jack. There is a green light on the control when it has power and is switched on, so make sure it is lit green. If it is not, make sure the power cord on the subwoofer is plugged in and getting power. Also, check to make sure you have the green audio cable plugged into the green audio port of the PC (typically the center port). If the sound jack is plugged in while the PC is on, you will need to reboot it before it will work. If you still have trouble, exit to Windows and make sure the PC is not muted.
