Arcade2TV software does not reliably identify X-Input or Pinball Mode
Final Reusable Answer
When troubleshooting Arcade2TV-XR mode switching, do not rely on the Arcade2TV software to confirm X-Input Mode or Pinball Mode. The software can properly report Keyboard Mode and D-Input Mode, but X-Input Mode and Pinball Mode both use the standard Windows X-Input driver and should be verified in Windows joy.cpl.
For Pinball Mode testing, have the customer switch to the mode indicated by the purple blink, open joy.cpl, select each controller/gamepad entry if more than one appears, open Properties, and test whether the plunger/nudge/button activity registers there.

Update / Supersede Notes
This improves future drafts by clarifying what the Arcade2TV software can and cannot show during mode troubleshooting. The ticket outcome is not fully confirmed, so this should be treated as authoritative diagnostic guidance rather than a confirmed final fix.
Safe For Active Retrieval
Safe for future Freshdesk private-note drafts as diagnostic guidance. Do not represent it as a confirmed repair for Bob's specific issue.
