Arcade2TV-XR PS5 pinball setup with Brook Wingman FGC2
Useful Answer
For PlayStation 5 pinball use, connect the Arcade2TV-XR through the Brook Wingman FGC2 adapter with a single USB-B cable.
Recommended setup:
- Install Arcade2TV-XR firmware v2.27 or newer.
- Do not use the older 2-in-1 adapter for the pinball-only setup.
- Connect the Arcade2TV-XR USB-B port directly to the Brook Wingman FGC2.
- Plug the FGC2 into a rear USB port on the PS5 for the most stable connection.
- Hold the P1 Mode button for about 5 seconds until the controller shows a blinking purple light.
- Solid purple or decorative RGB purple is not the same thing as blinking purple Pinball Mode.
- After the controller is connected and blinking purple, press and hold the left flipper button and Player 1 button together to complete the PS5 handshake.
If mode switching gets stuck, unplug the controller, immediately switch modes after reconnecting, then unplug and repeat the mode switch if needed. In the resolved case, doing the unplug-and-switch sequence allowed the customer to reach the correct mode.
Source Context
The customer could not connect Arcade2TV-XR to PS5 through the Brook Wingman FGC2 and was confused by firmware versions, RGB colors, and mode switching. Support clarified the single-cable FGC2 path, blinking purple Pinball Mode, and the left-flipper plus Player 1 handshake. The customer then replied that unplugging and immediately switching modes got it working.
